your brand, out in the real world - you’ll need to find a way to spread the word on your brand. how do you plan to do it? follow the steps below to design your brand out in the wild.
what social media application does your target consumer or audience use? are you making natural skincare for kids? what apps are parent’s using? facebook? instagram? tiktok? or will tiktok be banned by the time your brand launches :( are you an events videographer? maybe you’ll need a youtube page to direct future clients? watch this video to learn more about how to choose which app is best for your brand/business.
create your preferred social media page. use your logo as your account’s profile image and include all basic elements of your page profile. need help writing a bio for your page? use ai to help! need a secure email for people to contact you? try proton mail for a free email account. do you need to schedule meetings with potential clients? calendly is a great scheduler for virtual and irl meetings. try a linktree to centralize your contact info.
create social media content about your brand and what you do! there’s a lot of possibilities on what type of content to make and your decision should be dependent on which app you selected. instagram? make some posts and stories that introduce your brand’s identity and purpose. youtube? create a banner for your future video content and some thumbnails to use for your future videos. what programs you use are at your discretion. making a tiktok ? check out tutorials on capcut (free mobile video editor). building a cohesive instagram page? check out this canva tutorial. be sure to utilize all the other design content you’ve made thus far like your logo and mock up.
submit your social media page or screenshots (if you don’t want your page to go live quite yet…) to virginia union university’s design lab team for feedback by sending your designs to designlab@vuu.edu with “brand launcher” in the subject line. you will receive feedback and suggestions for improvement within 2 weeks and your work will be assessed using this rubric.
